June 3, 2016: 12:00 AM EST
Australia's Competition and Consumer Commission has fined supermarket chain Woolworths $9 million for its involvement in price-fixing among the largest laundry detergent companies in the country. According to Rod Sims, chairman of the competition and consumer-protection agency, the supermarket chain admitted to knowing about the illegal arrangement between Colgate-Palmolive, PZ Cussons, and Unilever. Two months earlier, Colgate-Palmolive was fined $18 million for its role in the scheme.
