Walmart Plans To Double Products Sold From Women-Owned Companies

October 12, 2015: 12:00 AM EST
Walmart India said it plans to double the volume of products it sources from women-owned business enterprises in the next five years. Part of the company’s global initiative to help empower women, the company also seeks to source $20 billion in products from women for its business in the United States. Also, the company partnered with nonprofit group WEConnect International to identify products made by women-owned companies, with companies that are at least 51 percent owned by women allowed to use a “women-owned” logo on their products.
