Walmart India Posts Strong Revenue Growth In 2016

Walmart India reported revenue grew 7 percent to Rs 3,996.8 crore for the 15-month period ending March 2016, compared with the 12-month period ending December 2014. Although sales grew 34 percent, the company grow 7 percent on an annual basis. Also, losses dropped from Rs 232.2 crore to Rs 140.4 crore during the same period. Walmart also opened a new store, taking the company's store count to 21, after more than two years of not adding a new location.
