Wal-Mart's Chief Merchandising Officer Mac Naughton Resigns

November 25, 2014: 12:00 AM EST
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. chief merchandising officer Duncan Mac Naughton resigned before Black Friday, the Thanksgiving shopping event. Mac Naughton's departure enabled Wal-Mart U.S. CEO Greg Foran to reorganize the retailer's operations in the United States, as Wal-Mart aims to attract more shoppers into its stores. Its U.S. business accounts for almost 60 percent of Wal-Mart's $476 billion revenue; however, for the past two years, it has been trying to overcome declining shopper visits.
