Wal-Mart Wins In Mexico With Multi-Format Approach

August 31, 2016: 12:00 AM EST
Walmart of Mexico and Central America’s multi-format strategy, which covers hypermarkets, discount-bodega stores, and warehouse clubs, has positioned the company for long-term success in Mexico. Walmex’s efforts to improve operations, including logistics, and integration of its digital platforms have strengthened the company’s competitiveness as the local retail market reaches its peak growth. Walmex also enjoys a significant lead in the local online retail market over Amazon, which came to Mexico relatively later than it did in other markets.
