Wal-Mart Lays Off More Head-Office Workers

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. dismissed more than 100 employees at its headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas. In October 2015, the retailer laid off 450 people at its headquarters, followed by 150 job cuts at its Sam’s Club warehouse chain in January 2016. Wal-Mart’s latest layoffs affected mainly its information systems department, with South Asian immigrants in the region expected to bear the brunt of firings.
