Tesco Is Worst Violator Of Industry Code Of Practice, Suppliers Say

June 22, 2015: 12:00 AM EST
Tesco is the worst among leading retailers at complying with government-sanctioned code of practice covering business dealings with suppliers, according to a survey of manufacturers. Results of the survey conducted by the UK's grocery regulator revealed 4 percent of Tesco's direct suppliers said the company never complied with the industry code, while another 30 percent said it “rarely complied” with the code. Tesco said the survey, which covered over 1,000 manufacturers, was a snapshot of its suppliers' views, as the retailer has 3,000 suppliers in the UK.
