Sainsbury's Outspends Other Retailers On Advertising In January 2015

Sainsbury's spent ₤4.6 million on advertising in the four weeks ending January 31, 2015, making the company the biggest spender on TV and print ads so far, according to Nielsen. Discount retailers Aldi and Lidl increased their advertising spend, following the increase in their collective market share to 10 percent. Aldi increased its sales 17.3 percent year on year, while Lidl's sales grew 13.8 percent.
