Metro Group's Demerger Enters Next Phase

Metro Group's Management Board, following the completion of the analysis phase, said it plans to start preparations for the company's demerger into two independent, listed companies. With pro-forma organizational separation to take place on September 30, 2016, the actual split and public listing of the resulting corporate identities are expected to be completed in the middle of 2017. According to the company, proposals for supervisory board chairmen and management board positions have been made and the groundwork for corporate and tax set-up and capital structure was prepared.
