Lidl Launches Lithuania Business; Opens First 15 Stores

German discount retailer Lidl opened its first 15 stores in Lithuania on June 2, 2016. In 2002, the company announced its plans to enter the Lithuania market; however, these plans were put on hold. After the company opened a €40-million distribution center in Kaunas and hired public relations professionals, Lidl Lietuva finally announced its planned entry into Lithuania.
