India's E-Commerce Market Expected To See Rapid Growth In Next Four Years, Report Says

April 25, 2016: 12:00 AM EST
India’s e-commerce market is forecast to grow significantly for the four-year period ending 2020, according to the Confederation of Indian Industry and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP. Data from the organizations revealed the market’s business-to-business segment is expected to more than double from $300 billion in 2014 to $700 billion in 2020, while the business-to-consumer side is forecast to jump from $13.6 billion to $101.9 billion. Growth in B2C will be driven by the increase in number of online shoppers, expected to jump from 20 million in 2013 to 220 million in 2020, and by an increase in average spending by online shoppers from $147 to $464 in 2020.
