February 3, 2015: 12:00 AM EST
UK households that intend to shop at discount retailers increased to 45 percent in 2014 from 37 percent in 2013 despite the improvement in consumer confidence in the economy, according to market research firm Nielsen. Data from the report “UK Consumer Confidence Index” revealed confidence level in the country rose to 94 points, with 100 points or higher representing confidence, after four consecutive quarters of growth. Also, 42 percent of 30,000 consumers covered by the survey said they currently feel confident about buying, while 45 percent said expressed confidence in their personal finances.
