Edible Cookie Dough Turns Hobbyist Into Entrepreneur

June 18, 2015: 12:00 AM EST
A 27-year-old entrepreneur and he husband have developed an edible cookie dough that is being marketed successfully on her Web site using social media like Instagram. The dough, which is available in 19 flavors, can be baked into cookies or eaten raw safely because it is made with a pasteurized egg product. Cookie DŌ founder Kristen Tomlan quit her full-time job with a brand management company when she realized that her cookie baking hobby – especially the edible raw dough part – just might be unique. Containers of dough cost $14, with four-packs and six-packs available.
