David Dillon Retires As Kroger Chairman

The Kroger Co. said David B. Dillon will retire as chairman of the board on December 31, 2014. Having served the company for 38 years, Dillon will be replaced by CEO Rodney McMullen effective January 1, 2015. McMullen was appointed as member of the board of directors in 2003. Dillon served as Kroger's chairman from 2004 to 2014 and as CEO from 2003 to 2013. Before that, he occupied various executive positions at Kroger and Dillons Companies, which merged in 1983.
