Carrefour To Sell Off 100 Of Recently Purchased Dia Stores

May 29, 2015: 12:00 AM EST
One hundred of the 750 Dia France discount supermarket stores that Carrefour purchased in 2014 will be sold off because they are not located in desirable customer catchment areas or are simply not competitive or profitable. The selloff is part of Carrefour’s “transformation plan” to rebrand the Dia outlets as Carrefour Market or Carrefour Contact outlets. Seventy-four of the stores to be sold are located in France’s Rhine-Rhône region, the west-center region, or in the northwest.
