Carrefour Says Sales In France And Overseas Markets Showed Strong Growth In 1Q 2015

French retailer Carrefour reported sales grew 6.2 percent to €21.0 billion in the first quarter of 2015. In France, sales, excluding petrol, grew 7.9 percent, with organic growth of 2.6 percent. International sales grew 8.4 percent, with organic sales rising 3.6 percent. Sales growth was reported in Europe, while excellent performance continued in Latin America markets. Also, the company said currencies had a positive impact of 2.1 percent and the calendar effect was slightly positive at 0.3 percent. Prices of petrol, however, had a negative impact of -2.1 percent.
