April 1, 2016: 12:00 AM EST
In the UK, the average household had a discretionary income of £197 per week in February 2016, £12 higher than in the same period of the previous year, according to retailer Asda. Data from the company’s Income Tracker report revealed family spending power grew, compared with the previous month, for the first time since September 2015. Growth in household discretionary income was driven mainly by higher wage growth. For the year ending February 2016, consumer prices increased 0.3 percent, the same rate as in the previous month.
