February 4, 2015: 12:00 AM EST
Discount retailer Aldi said it plans to open more than 70 new stores in the UK in 2015, adding to its present 560 store count in the country. Part of the company's efforts to improve its ability to compete with the UK's Big 4 supermarkets, the expansion will also see the hiring of almost 5,000 additional workers. The new openings will include 150 store managers and 300 assistant store managers.
