Aldi Plans Two Regional Distribution Centers In UK

Discount retailer Aldi plans to build regional distribution centers in Leicestershire and Kent. Expected to open by early 2017, Aldi's planned Leicestershire facility will have a total floor area of 58,634 square meters and will create 400 new jobs. It will serve current and planned stores across the Midland region. For the planned Kent facility, Aldi will spend £50 million to build the 62,427 sq m distribution center on the Isle of Sheppey. It will include a 14-acre warehouse and 40,000 sq ft. of office space.
